Raglan Street, running from the ferries at Mosman Bay near Taronga Zoo, right down to Balmoral Beach — the picnic destination of choice for Sydney’s northern elite, has topped a list of Sydney’s most expensive streets, released by Onthehouse.com.au.

The street has a total of 297 houses valued at more than $1 million, beating second-placed Old South Head Rd, Vaucluse, which had 220. Bargains are rare on the strip, with 99 per cent of houses being worth over $1 million, meaning just three homes were left in the six figure club.

Other streets to feature in the top 10 were Edinburgh Rd, Castlecrag; Hopetoun Ave, Vaucluse; Deepwater Rd, Castle Cove; Seaforth Cres, Seaforth and Bondi Rd, Bondi. Coogee’s Mount St and Brook St were sixth and seventh with 186 and 182 million-plus houses respectively.
Mosman’s second street in the list was Awaba St coming in equal ninth.

Having the richest street was not enough to secure Mosman a spot in the top 10 for NSW suburbs, with seven postcodes tying for first place. Balgowlah Heights, Clontarf, Cremorne Point, Duffys Forest, Henley, Huntleys Point and Huntleys Cove all topped the list, with 99.99 per cent of houses worth $1 million or more. Cremorne (99.95 per cent), East Lindfield (99.91 per cent) and Coogee (99.91 per cent) finished off the top 10, while Mosman was 11th with 99.87 per cent.

John Edwards, consulting analyst for Onthehouse.com.au said that while not in the top 10, Mosman was certainly one of the nation’s most prosperous suburbs.
“It was no surprise to see so many of New South Wales’ suburbs housing some of Australia’s most expensive properties,” Mr Edwards said. “Within the top 10 alone, no suburb drops below 99 per cent.”
